Breat reduction and Lymphedema

This is a crazy question but it is keeping me up at night. I am having a breast reduction next month. I had a right groin node disection and have right leg lymphedema. I have waited 25 years to have a reduction and now that I am approved I am so worried about leg clots. I know in general after any surgery, lymphedema or not, a patient is at risk for blood clots. What precautions can I take to really reduce my risk? Thanks!

Hey Sailor

They always do a couple things with me. First, the leg is wrapped - even while being in bed. THen they have often given me a blood thinner shot when my blood shows itself to be very "thick"

Have had countless procedures done (like yesterday) and so far have never ever had a clot.
