avastin for lymphedema?

I found a research poster for a phase 1 study that looked at the use of Avastin to treat lymphedema, and also found another clinical trial in looking at a similar drug.

Avastin is used for cancer treatment. It's a vegf inhibitor ... so I"m really confused. I thought that vegf-C increases seemed to help lymphedema in a mouse study from Finland. Wouldn't a vegf inhibitor cut back on the vegf-c?

Cell biology is not my strongest suit!

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

I'm really confused too. I don't know much about cell bio either, but it seems like this drug is more likely to cause lymphedema than fix it. I'd be really interested in reading anything you find out.
