Info on hereditary LE

Postby bradysdad » Tue Jun 20, 2006 10:56 am

Hello everyone, I have been seeing and reading more on hereditary LE. I know that in my case I was born with an undeveloped lymphthatic system and have not heard anything that my son would have it. How is hereditary LE started and is my son at risk? I have asked all the DRs. and they say no but, I have found out alot lately that even the docs. don't know. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks and have a great day ...Guy...

Information of Hereditary Lymphedema

Hi Guy

Here is a page on hereditary LE:

Thus far, they have identified two specific genes in relationship to hereditary LE, you can read up on them

Lymphedema Genetics ... netics.htm

As far as your son being at risk, it would be difficult to say without a enetics test.

In my own family, Guy, after having hereditary lymphedema slam three generations in a row, it now has skipped two generations.

No one in my children's generations...or their children's generation has shown signs of lymphedema.
